Our Mission
To involve our members in a statewide exchange of creative and technical knowledge about the art of metalsmithing.

A Brief History
The Colorado Metalsmithing Association (CoMA) was established in 1994. Since our founding the membership has expanded beyond Colorado to throughout the United States.

Who We Are
Our membership includes jewelers, sculptors, blacksmiths, knifemakers and other professionals interested in supporting the metal arts. We believe that a strong artist community is essential to the development and growth of the metal arts in Colorado. We host all-member and juried shows and bring members together for metalsmithing related events throughout the year. The highlight of our year is the annual conference in July. The conference features nationally and internationally known artists who share their knowledge and experience with us. A selection of those artists will often teach workshops both before and after the conference.

CoMA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are run by a group of dedicated volunteer board and committee members who aim to involve members in creative and social dialogue about the art of metalsmithing. We'd love to have you join us! If you're interested in volunteering on the board or a committee, please contact our president, Kim Harrell, at president@coloradometalsmiths.org.
What We Do
Exhibitions
CoMA often has opportunities to sponsor juried gallery shows which we share with members. We also invite members to participate in our all-member shows including the one during our annual conference.
Education
Throughout the year CoMA presents various learning activities: Demo Days and Network & Learn events. These are a great opportunity to learn from and meet other members.
Annual Conference
Our annual conference, held in Colorado during a weekend in July, allows members to network, share ideas, and learn from industry leaders in the metal arts.
Community
Networking
Our membership includes a wide variety of professionals, educators, students and hobbyists. We believe that connecting with other metalsmiths helps all of us achieve our creative and professional goals.
Development
We offer scholarships to students to attend our annual conference. We speak regularly in classrooms and school events and we work with other guilds to promote and maintain interest in the metal arts.
