Boulder, CO

Colorado Gemworks is a second generation lapidary, rock hound and artist from Boulder, Colorado. My father Lew Wackler has been in the gem business for over 50 years and has become world famous for his lapidary fantasy cuts, high quality cabochons and artistic knives. Now that I run my own business the goal is to provide my favorite gems from around the world and focusing on quality over quantity. Some available gems are but not limited to : Mozambique Ruby crystals, Damascus Steel cabs, Watermelon Tourmaline, Jade, Lapis, Sugilite, Dinosaur Bone, Elestial Quartz and much more. Colorado Gemworks is built on customer satisfaction and my clients from all over the world repeat business with me because they know they will find unique and quality specimens with attention to detail!

Kim Harrell is a silversmith and jewelry artist who makes distinctly textured and clean-lined jewelry and silver wares primarily using precious metals. She studied at the London Metropolitan University, Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design where she obtained her B.A. in Silversmithing, Jewellery and Allied Crafts. Kim was born in Denver, CO and currently resides in Aurora, CO where she runs her studio and teaches at The Art Students League of Denver.

 

Kim is the current President of the Colorado Metalsmithing Association (CoMA) and mentors emerging metalsmiths nationally. An experienced educator, she is available for group and private teaching and to speak about her work.

 

Kim’s work can be found in private and corporate collections in the USA and Europe. The Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art in Denver acquired a set of her silver sculptural spoons that are currently on display in the Sculpture section.

As a CAD design artist for fine Jewelry, I had the opportunity to work as the Lead Corporate Jewelry Designer for Hyde Park Jewelers for over 3 years and work with an amazing team of jewelers and designers for over the span of my career.

I am a firm believer in giving back to my community by participating in STEAM programs as an artist using applied technology in art programs at various locations including the Denver Science Museum, Wings over the
Rockies and I am currently engaged with the Arapahoe Community College developing a CAD and Jewelry manufacture program classes starting Spring 2023.

The J. Cotter Gallery is an internationally recognized gallery of contemporary designer jewelry. Jim Cotter is the proprietor of the J. Cotter Gallery in Vail, Colorado and his gallery has remained in the same location on Wall Street ever since 1970. His work is in museums around the United States and Europe as well as in many private collections. Cotter is best known for his use of organic forms and unusual materials and the originality of the work that separates him from others because his designs are unique, handmade and one of a kind.
